Nutrition Giant Sponsors Salmon Marathon

Hammer Nutriion, known worldwide for their nutrition products for athletes, is sponsoring the Salmon Marathon.  Hammer, headquartered in Whitefish, Montana is providing the sports drink HEED for the 250 runners in this inaugural race.  HEED provides consistent, long-lasting energy and the electrolytes athletes need during competition.

A long-time favorite for ultra-marathoners, Salmon Marathon runners will be able to refuel themselves on HEED and water at each of the thirteen aid stations set up every two miles along the route.

"We're fortunate to have Hammer as a sponsor," said race director Kathy Gatens.  "I've used their products in marathons with great success.  They are generously providing drinks, other nutrition products and prizes for the runners.  It is a great boon for a small marathon."

Hammer joins other sponsors including Arctic Ice, Salmon Arts Council and Salmon Chamber of Commerce.  All proceeds from the Salmon Marathon go to Whitewater Therapeutic, a nonprofit providing therapeutic equine experiences for the disabled, elderly and children-at-risk.
